I don’t have to imagine an intelligence who exists at the verge between light and living experience, between light and thought. I know such an intelligence, and our own intelligence emerges directly as a result of our participation in it. Without that constant participation, what we understand and experience as ‘our own intelligence’ dissolves like a rainbow in darkness. This participation is the source of many of our ideas about mind powers and religions. But the secret is no secret at all. Intelligence is (partly) a vastly distributed hypersystem of relational superfunction. Every living being participates in, and, in some way, recognizes that unifying force and context. That ‘system’, however, is amechancial and transorganic. It may be encountered and related with by beings as a (meta)being, and may conversely be encountered (in another order of instancing) and related with as beings and living places, situations, or moments. But what I want you to know is this: there is an intelligence who exists at the verge. And all our minds are always touching it, like blind hands, in a darkness whose opacities are not those of light but perspectivity, intimacy, and relational prodigy. Without that connection, our intelligence neither arises nor is sustained, and the qualities and bandwidth of the connection have staggering impacts on our consciousness, learning, and development. I do not have to imagine these matters for a simple reason. My imagination -=is the body of that relationship=-, but only to the degree that I can allow, sustain, and pursue it. Much like you.
