Moments after I wrote the update referenced below, I called my offspring.

Who proceeded to explain they had just had an encounter with the local police of Winters, California. An officer whose last name sounds like Eckart rolled up on some young adults in front of their home. My kin was spinning a rod. The officer engaged them aggressively, demanding they stand down and be identified, accusing them of felonies (for spinning a stave). The officer went on to harass, threaten, and ‘ID’ the other people in the group, including children.

Yet the seeming ferocity and danger of the officer in question has results I am sure he could not imagine. Indeed, he has done us more than two miraculous services, at precious little cost to us.

Firstly, he has directly alerted us to the actual character and function of police in general, and in Winters in particular, without causing egregious harm. That actual character and activity is egregiously aggressive, colossally stupid, abusive, and lethally effective against children, the helpless, the poor, outcasts, teens, and almost anyone else who happens to trigger their desire to use the weapons, real and fictitious, we have so generously and supportively endowed them with.

But he has done us a far greater service for his second act.

He has allowed me to directly demonstrate (while I was writing on this topic) that minds -will- connect during times of stress, intensity, or need… at a distance.

And it has nothing to do with science, religion, the new age, or psychism. Nothing. It has to do with what minds are. And we don’t know what that is. That is what we know -with and by-. Our ideas of -what it is- are -wrong- in ways that -damage what it may become-. And all the ideas about ‘special skills’ and ‘mystical universes’ are, actually, in the way. They inhibit what they pretend to celebrate. Like other familiar ‘religions’.

If you have gotten to religions about natural capabilities of your own mind? Your intelligence has become lethally degraded by advertising strategies and tokenizations of miracles. Nevermind your descriptions. Examine the actual phenomenon of our relationships and mind. Our intelligence and its opposites that nearly always masquerade as its betters in our cultures and common experience.

This update I here reference is a timestamped record of a signal received from my offspring; approximately 5 minutes before our contact. I believed I was placing a call to the time and place of the East Coast, but it rang (and was answered on the West).

For these (and many other) reasons I suggest that this update comprises direct evidence of mind-to-mind contact across a distance. This was neither expected nor arranged. The flow of updates prior to this shares only minor threads of related concern, which, themselves, may be understood as response to signals.

The meaning of this is as revolutionary as it is factual: we are a -distributed- intelligence. Individuals exist primarily as a -convenience of language and law-, which both require and prosper from this reification of a provisional status into a concrete status. And it is that act itself which ruins the distributed quality of our minds, our ways of seeing, and our intelligence… personal, social, national, and universal.
