Many say that being born to human incarnation is a curse, a sign of lethal ignorance, a trap, a torture… suffering. I think someone pooped on their pillow, because frankly, human life is astonishing, even with all of the dangers, challenges, terrors, and agonies. Someone asked me what I would be if I could be anything at all. I said ‘you know, being human is about as amazing a thing as I can imagine, I’d go with it again’. Now, I can see how incarnation as imagined in our probably cruelly stupid models is a trap, but I have to say, human birth is a wonder, even if it is a tragedy and a drama. And I know both, deep and long.
