Be careful. When you choose to copy or quote something, this action has a wide variety of unseen choices for you and all who are attending. Many of them are deadly to intelligence, wonder, and curiosity. The reason they are deadly to intelligence, is, in part, is that they ape expertise while discarding context. This is like a doctor aping diagnostic skill and making recommendations to the world without examining any patient. They are deadly to wonder, because they stand in its place, and give way to nothing novel. They kill learning. Curiosity cannot withstand the presence of experts. Neither can your mind. So do everyone a favor, and leave the dead words that want to act as our gods in their graves. That is where they belong, except we take them out, dust them off, and ask ourselves, openly and truly, why they have been thus preserved. As curiosities and aids to learning, they can still be valuable. As towering authorities of identity and righteousness… they are parasites. Kindly refrain from coddling parasites while thinking yourself ‘friendly and kind’.
