Words change what people see and sense about what they see. Instantly. Not next week. In fact, they are -predicting- the words before they hear them, and -this- influences what they are seeing, hearing, and understanding. All of this is ordinarily unconscious (not sub-, un-), and that means beyond our access or intervention. But once conscious, this becomes an astonishingly powerful asset, both for communications, and troubleshooting. Since nearly everyone is -constantly- seeing what they are being told (to degrees which vary, but none are unaffected, except perhaps those with special training or deficits), we can use this to both avoid traps, and learn to leverage the benefits in ways otherwise unthinkable to those whose minds were long ago co-opted via the deficits.
