“The unexpected results apparent in the familiar double-slit experiment with light demonstrates something that is easily overlooked: asking a question changes what you’re querying, and it changes the structure of the frameworks you are questioning with, since each different form of perspective brings implicit structural peculiarities into play. This is vastly more prevalent with our minds and their subjects than we imagine the mind and world in which we form the intention to ask… evaporate in the lightning transformations that actually asking evokes… and in their place we find not what we were seeking, but the results of having sought upon ourselves and our original subject. This is nothing like our models, which largely suppose that our questions lead us relatively unchanged into the discovery of what existed prior to our asking them.”
