“In the beginning, the framework was relatively beneficial because we were able to maintain our humanity in the face of representations, so that we could actually use them as tools. But what happened over time, was that our inventions gained on us, until this process reversed, and, even though they were not beings in their own right, their projection in our collective psyche was being-like enough to convert us to its service. Now, we are the tools of our inventions. We work to sustain, support, and in every way ‘evolve’ them, as the invisible costs of the strange ‘benefits’ they deliver slowly devour us from within.”
