The more closely I look, the more suspicious this whole idea of ‘astrality’ appears. We speak of it as if it is a dimension we can ‘enter and travel in’ during certain forms of trance-like experience. But I think, with good reason, it is not a dimension at all, and what we are interacting with is not a kind of space, as our language and metaphors imagine… it is a form of -mind-, and, specifically, it is associated with the functions of -short term memory storage-. If you were to suddenly consciously encounter these processes in your own mind? You would experience this as ‘going astral’. But it is not space! It is -memory-. We think of memory as storage but it is not this at all, except in our models and machines. It is, in fact, a -way of being- that accomplishes the storage of ‘memories’ the way you visiting the ocean accomplishes footprints in the sand.
