I was trained to enjoy the avalanche of violence, commercialism, sexism and pornographic hyperbole that comprise the substitutions for plot common amongst nearly all video media. Nonetheless, as I developed as a writer and artist I came to detest them at the same time.
This conflict is a strange experience, since I often respond positively as a viewer to what I ideologically despise. The point, however is this: nearly all of the video media we produce is catastrophically toxic, and we and our children are trained to adore it. This has implications that reach all the way into the core of our minds, and these circumstances catalyze futures for viewers and nations that we can neither afford nor survive.
