For nine months in 2002, I was introduced to a culture beyond anything I had ever imagined or dreamed. I had no idea this was possible. The culture in question is nurturing, compassionate, intelligent beyond measure or limit, hyperconnective, alive, and everywhere apparent to every animal or plant I saw… yet only the children amongst the humans could recognize it, or me, for that matter.
There is an important reason why the children are the exception: they are members of that culture until we divide them from it.
I want you to understand something simple. The cultures you see here on Earth are the skeletal remains of something too astonishing and real to be framed by the minds our cultures establish in the images of their poverty. That something makes the sum of our sciences, religions and philosophies appear gravely primitive and toxic in comparison. We are like angels addicted to drawing stick-figures in our own excrement, and thus we are rendered bereft of both vision and flight.
I want you to have a taste of a living library older than time or matter. A universe whose books become your friends as they teach you ways and ideas no human has ever produced or imagined. I want you to have direct experiences of the exalted promise of our birthrights, and these are promises of an actual ‘Christmas’ whose gifts are endless, alive and true — gifts of a form that will neither require nor tolerate physical representation.
I want for you to know something of the actual nature of humanity and reality, and your ‘place’ in the order of ways and beings. For this to be realized we are going to have to restore your awareness of the ever-blossoming secret chrysalis you carry in (and as) your core.
The metamorphoses that are our birthrights have been too long delayed, co-opted, lied about, stolen, and sold back to us in skeletal replacements. The only thing required to change this is our curiosity, agreement, enthusiasm, mutual interest, and activity.
I ask you to join me in a project no less beautiful and imperative than the recovery of our humanity, a task which has too long been trod upon by our race in preference to spurious forms of wealth, supremacy, and intelligence.
I ask for nothing less than everything you’ve got. And I pledge to act and work beside you, until our hopes and humanity find themselves restored and preserved in our hearts, cultures, lives and vision.
