Bluntly, nothing is more suspicious than a book purported to have been written by the master of everything. Here’s the reason: any idiot would realize this is a deadly idea. I mean, really poorly educated people could even understand that this is an incredibly wrong idea. This is even more true for the ‘personal god’ of modern Christianity.
Whether or not there may be some being beyond and above all beings is an interesting quandary. I am extremely interested in this matter. There are many slighter lesser, but similarly grand quandaries that could easily be mistaken for this, as well. I think we should each explore such possibilities personally, if we are so inclined and are able to.
And the exploration should probably start, happen, and end -without books-. And, additionally, it should be beyond any human culture’s models or ideas. It should be -outside- of human culture. First. For important reasons.
God might be an author. But this god writes living books, not texts. Suppose you cannot read the living books, and only read the texts?
Let’s put text in its place, shall we? Texts are written by people, for purposes having little to do with God and much to do with the peculiar vulnerabilities, desires, and idiosyncrasies common not so much to individual humans as their strange (and too often estranged collectives…
