Avaefiir continues to inspire me. She built a web three nights ago, her first after losing three of her four right legs. The process was agonizing to observe. With only a single small leg on her right side, the majority of motions required for web-building were impossible. She was undaunted. She fell at least a hundred times. Every time, she learned.

Finally, it was done.

The result was makeshift, missing many rays, with some strange structure, but it was a web. Two days later, it was largely destroyed by an unknown force. I thought then that she might admit defeat, and choose the death-watch over re-emergence. Could she even repair the remains of the old web?

But today, she sits, if I may add my literary interpretation, somewhat proudly, in the center of a new web. An open declaration of war against death and disability. And this web is far better than the last. It may well bring her food.

I have promised she can take what she needs from me, to live or die. But each day, she gives more than she takes, whatever that tiny morsel may be. Long may she spin, and long may she skate deftly on the strands that lead to all moments of all beings.

My heart. She has all but become it.
