“I came out of a door onto a strange sort of deck that was like an enlarged crow’s nest. It was by turns open and surrounded by an oval of railing which was white. There was an older male there who reminded me of an uncle. He was well-dressed. We were in the middle of a greenish ocean. There was no other aspect of a vessel in evidence. Where had that door emerged from? I could not remember. We made a turn and the deck seemed as if it would submerge, but it remained dry within the railing and there was no water on us. We came of out that, as if it had been a wave and suddenly there was this incredible undulation and the deck divided into two portions; one at normal elevation, and mine, which was now a small crow’s nest plummeting skyward at a dizzying velocity. As I ascended, I could see the man on the deck below shrinking away from me, and a vast view of the endless, featureless water all around. I got to about 150 feet, and the man shrugged his shoulders and said ‘Well, you may as well leap now and start the whole thing over again.” I worried briefly, but did not relish the thought of further inexplicable ascent. I jumped.”
