Knowledge is powerful and the capacity to recall facts and methods is a crucial aspect of intelligence. But the aspect I find more intriguing is far more rare; it is creative. It is the capacity to learn in spite of what one has previously thought, seen, demonstrated or believed. The ability to drop everything that binds the mind to the defense of previous accomplishments and liberates it to exceed them not by factors but orders. This, I count intelligence: the ability to learn fluidly within circumstances familiar and unexpected.
