“Skepticism is a crucial ingredient in any rational intellect. One must subject the claims of the languaging/describing mind (and its servant cultures) to careful and frequent scrutiny, for they are usually riddled with inventions. On the other hand, one must think with great care before dismissing claims like telepathy, clairvoyance, or contact with nonhuman intelligence for a simple reason. If it ever occurred even a single time in all of human history, this dismissal is in error. One must exclude -every- report an event, not merely most or many of them, in order to provide grounds for such a position. And that, fortunately, or unfortunately, is practically impossible. In fact, I can find living examples of exceptions to many of the most fervently held skeptical dismissals. Nature is -made- of anomalies. People who want unexcepted laws are setting themselves up for disaster.” — an anonymous informant
