Most people habitually ignore intelligence and discoveries from fields outside their set of pet interests. Some people browse more broadly. Others are voracious, and are using incoming discoveries and information to constellate new understandings of existing ideas, and, occasionally, tearing them down entirely to be replaced by something vastly more accurate and effective. But most people habitually ignore crucial information from outside their set of pet interests.
