They Came in Time

There fell my tree, the five they called
Were sound and freed these fevers
Renounced, my hopes, and all kind care
We strangled few, who strange the river

There fell my faith, there fell the day
Where drowned our toil and fervor
Renounced, my love, and all kind care
The shadow cut, and hell laid bare

There fell my tree, the five they called
My spirit strayed to favors
Renounced, these dear departed strains
Of mortal forms and measures
