I have two preferred answers to the question ‘how are you?’. The first is that I like to use this question as an invitation to rediscover myself when I hear it, such that, instead of merely reporting, I am reawakened by the question to new opportunities. Like a meditation bell. How are you? ‘Wow, I didn’t realize how many ways I can be! Thanks for reminding me!’ Another thing I like to do with it just realize simply that ‘I am learning’. Almost as if that is my identity, rather than my activity…
