The general goal of the modern cultures is to silence and replace the originary intelligences which might otherwise guide and reward our development. These are the streams of intelligence we employ in order to acquire what competes with and largely subjugates them.
But it seems obvious that the original function of culture was to celebrate, preserve and distribute the nonordinary produce resulting from the development and enaction of those originary intelligences in common fellowship, contemplation, and activity together.
So how and when did this happen? How did our cultures, which should by all reasonable expectations act as vessels of augmentation and preservation of our humanity and inner diversity acquire the hubris to shout down and replace what they were born to serve? How did they become stillborn gods with infinite power over us and the future of the living planet? In fact, has not the same thing happened with our technologies? And was not the first of these the one I here most fundamentally employ… language?
