To experience time naturally is to be immersed in a living stream of transformations and processes. To be aware of the living time of nature, the calendar of living beings and the moon, is to resurrect time from its dead state as a representational quantification. Within nature, time is a living flow, and is experienced thus. Only when we are divided from nature, and enclosed in the confines of culture and objects can time become dead in the way our clocks and calendars demand. To resurrect it, we must return to its living stream, and that stream is the animals, places, plants and cycles that are the nursery of our species. The dead representations we make are like skeletal remains… but not just of nature and time… of ourselves and our spirit.
