In the lost wood I followed a stream that sparkled with spirit lights.
It led me to a pool where beautiful naked children played.
In the afternoon they sang; they jumped into the water and disappeared.
When I looked closer, I saw they had become little glistening fishes,
cavorting and flashing within the shining waters.

I fell asleep for a while, and dreamed of talking stars.
In the evening I awoke, and saw the little fishes leaping into the air.
As they leapt, they became birds of red, orange, green, purple, and gold.
And the birds spiraled and warbled; they flew and darted all about.
The patterns they made awakened my soul to impossible memories.

And I fell asleep again. I awoke at dawn.
All the colorful little birds were wheeling nearby; landing near the pool.
And each one that landed became a naked child.
And the children were laughing as they sang and splashed each other.
The sky and the trees were glowing with joyful fulfillment.
And I tell you truly, this was no dream.
