The wings of our soul require a great deal of training to lift us out of the illusions and reactivity of our human birth and the cultural scripting that accompanies it.

We call this training hardship, and most of us naturally wish to avoid it entirely. But without it, our wings will not emerge into our awareness and they will fail to acquire the power to lift us into flight.

Therefore I suggest that we embrace our portion of hardship as deep practice, and direct our attention to our inner wings and the ongoing development of their nascent capacities for the peculiar form of flight they endow — and the insight that is its hallmark.
