“Vetting” — To expertly check the character, identity, surrounding data, context, truth-claims, and related information on a person, thing, claim, being, or event.

It is your responsibility to carefully vet articles or updates you intend to repost. If you fail to do this, you are acting against your own intelligence and you are effectively attacking your FB associates with the goal of converting them to assets for the distribution of lies.

This responsibility is increased if the article contains information likely to be confabulated, and it is increased even further if the information you are posting contains a threat or poses as an antidote to some threat.

Some 96% of posts posing as threat warnings are viral, less than 4% contain information related to actual threats or how to avoid them.
