Our machines need power. And space. To be produced. To be housed. To be repaired. Our machines need attention. Clearly the purpose of Homo Sapiens Sapiens is to assemble, attend and service machines. From now on, machines will be getting the attention other living beings once received. But there’s more. Much more.
We’re going to put the living planet to the torch. For machinesake. And nothing can stop us. We’re going to lay waste to the oceans, denude the planet of forests, poison the atmosphere, and eliminate the remaining animal life which, other than its pathetic role as tourist attractions, is really just in the way. And the sooner it’s out of the way, the sooner we can have what we want. Food for machines. And space, to build more.
Remember that plaque we sent into space on one of our probes hoping it might be discovered by another intelligent species? It had a picture of a naked adult human couple holding hands. Behind them, was a great big machine. Not a child. Not a world. Not a tree. A mechanism.
We were telling the truth without realizing it or intending to: machines come out of our union. And they matter more than trees, worlds, or children.
