It is the ‘gift” of language that largely assassinates the creative imagination that illuminates our childhood and catalyzes our passions for discovery and learning. Like a mighty river dammed to produce ‘work’, the mind’s ‘flow’ resources are compromised, and then dominated almost entirely by the needs of language and its absurd upkeep costs. The ‘dancing mind’ that is so vital in childhood is co-opted. What was a river becomes a trickle. The dead library of references becomes a tyrannical god.
