Psychosis and apolcalyptica go hand in hand for a reason: a really powerful set of delusions needs a really powerful threat to keep it from being jettisoned from the mind. This isn’t to say that catastrophes aren’t happening, but rather that they’ve happened in cycles since the beginning of life on Earth. Delusions require significant hype to resist inquiry, and the apocalypse is about as significant as it gets.
