Once, there were special people who ‘midwived’ wor(l)ds that brought new ways of seeing and knowing into the minds of their people — from the great beyond. Living wor(l)ds! This medicine-being was their mind(mother :|: father). A priest(ess), child, ghost, artist, sibling, scribe, sage, and companion. In our culture, this sacred role is given to objects, incapable of care or insight — or even — understanding.
