Adults are so certain they know or can quickly learn ‘what’ something they are seeing or experiencing is, that they exchange this activity for seeing and experience. Once they decide ‘what’ something is, they know where it fits in their evaluations, and the relationship warps — usually into tokenization. Whatness is a game that divests us of intimacy.
