In an interview with Nina Glaser, who had photographed friends who were dying, I suggested that the process of dying raised us to new heights of growth and learning. She didn’t disagree, but said that it was her experience that the process largely magnified the already-present patterns of growth and character; her position was that people become more of what they were becoming… faster.
