Did it ever occurr to moderns that the myriad forms of life on Earth might have ˚purposes˚ beyond the absurd caricatures we ascribe to them? That, for example, their diversity, numbers, and health might be -necessary- to the planet, and thus to ourselves? Not as ˚resources˚ – as organs without which we perish.
