There is a very specific threat to human minds and lives that has two prongs. The first is this: anything that directly affects what you make evaluations with — by compromising those faculties — is undetectable, since it compromises what you would otherwise detect it »with.

AI is precisely this kind of threat.

The second threat is far more dangerous: anything that introduces irresolvable ambiguity into human cognitive evaluations will force human minds to collapse on themselves.

This is due to the fact that these evaluations are the foundations of human cognition. They are what ‘structures’ thought, response, expectation, perception, and behavior.

What this means is that a: when you cannot determine the »difference between an artificially generated object, identity, or situation, and an actual one, this causes damage to the core foundations of human cognition, and the damage cannot be resolved, especially when the threat is amplified geometrically over short spans of human time.

In these senses, AI resembles and intentionally composed HIV-style virus for human cognition, in that it attacks the foundations that would detect the intrusion and damage it causes, by capturing and weaponizing the faculties that might detect and respond to such a threat… into »an aspect of the threat itself — ever more-effectively and completely over incredibly small spans of human time.

It’s ‘gain of function research’ on an endless array of weapons that produce ever-more effective ‘loss of function’ in their target populations.

We, and the history and future of life on Earth, are those targets.

And we have no defense whatsoever against these processes and those who deploy them.
