The individual is internalizing dimensions of self as they arise extrinsically in culture or the group. At the same time, this process reverses, and the individual then becomes the source of new internalizations in the culture. But while this is happening, the individual who represents radical change becomes the mortal enemy of the group and the one who represents radical stability becomes the enemy of the individual.

The individual acquires the precursors for new dimensions of self from culture, and begins developing them locally (internalization). This process in turn feeds back into culture, providing new precursors for future distributed states as well as moral/ethical/action schemas.

The shadow of the group’s hatred and disdain for liquid, unbound individuality becomes, in some individuals, a reified aspect of self. This aspect is conflicted, but essentially desires to revisit the pain the group inflicted (unjustly) upon the group. This is how people become capable of crimes that target ‘anyone and everyone’. It can be resolved by backtracing the elements to their sources, and placing those sources in comprehensible contexts for (for the individual, addressing issues of in/justice), while simultaneously assisting with the previously stunted evolution of the liquid self.
