Hard-line Republicans (utilizing in a gross generalization here) are ‘pro business’, which means, effectively, pro-military, anti-democracy, ‘obliterate the environment’, ‘crises are just profit opportunities’ and straight-up ‘line my pockets and distribute financial and political power directly to cronies’.

They’re GREAT at math. And lying, too. They’re also extremely skillful at various psy-ops that divide the American electorate against themselves and each other… which has gotten far simpler during their longstanding assault on education, health and well-being.

People too poorly educated to understand a simple statement in English, or evaluate it, are simple to manipulate; they’re angry that they can’t understand ordinary equivalencies, and so can’t wait to displace the pain they feel at their own incomprehension onto nearly any scapegoat that can be tabled.
