Apparently, at some point in the development of ideas, a certain cadre of influential ‘authors’ (read: ideological authorities) arose.

These authorities declared a broad range of completely absurd ‘facts’, that came to dominate human thought and behavior over the past ~ 500 years. Many of them are totally backwards.

They focused on physical situations, and what they called ‘constants’, which were presumed, erroneously, to have always existed, and to have functioned like ‘laws’ or ‘principles’ that never change, and never changed over the history of this planet, or, indeed, timespace itself.

One of the most bizarre of these fictions is that organisms are not actually participating in their evolution. Nor is consciousness.

They supposed that the primary force that caused the catastrophically diverse forms of life on Earth, had to do with nothing other than a kind of mechanical ‘ratchet’, which they called Evolution. Having arbitrarily dismissed both ‘souls’ (and awareness itself, even intelligence’, they decided that the forms could be explained by mutation. And this became the canonical concept underlying a broad range of scientific pursuits.

But the evolution of life on Earth is primarily driven by awareness. In every form of life, in every moment of existence. It was awareness that produced the forms, forms which never were, and cannot be… mere vehicles for the reproduction of genes.

And if you think about this matter, you will see, that »human awareness, and, specifically, our activities with machines, have become the fundamental arbiter of evolution on Earth at present. All forms of life are subject to this. And it’s not genes that produce it. It’s consciousness. And a strange variant of conceptual thought… that dismisses organisms as trivial, and machines and commodities… as ‘what matters’.

This is precisely the kind of staggering lack of awareness that can lead directly to a dead planet. Simply because one of the forms of life here, an extremely strange, estranged, and unique form… underwent a cascade of developmental arcs… that led to it becoming estranged from organisms.

And ‘familiar’ with machines.
