I am inclined to imagine a cartoon about a strange animal that goes about exaggerating its prowess, insight, intelligence and … authority. Thinking itself alone. Thinking itself ‘the best’ or ‘the smartest’. Ignoring the intelligences of nature and the sky while it stockpiles poisons, weapons and machines.

These cartoon creatures are so impressed with their mechanical expertise … that they have neither humility nor awareness of the fact all of their behavior is being observed by creatures who are ancient, complex and relationally — rather than merely mechanically — intelligent.
