Note: Some medical conditions effectively erase the diagnostic data needed to determine their cause/origin when they occur. So doctors have to wait patiently for the chance to observe the pre-presentation situation in the body.

This reminds me of certain processes in human culture that ‘hide their origin/causes’ to prevent intervention… seemingly on purpose.
