Consider the perspectives related to Water espoused by Masaru Emoto. I don’t need to enumerate them here, but feel free to examine them on your own.

In thinking about these perspectives we might be inclined to either verify or dismiss them. But there are some other ways of thinking about the situation. It is imperative that a: we avoid dangerous, irrational declarations, and at the same time b: we find ways to use perspectives that, even if they are disproven or false-to-facts… are nonetheless important to entertain due to their ability to grant useful perspectives and opportunities for learning that are otherwise unlikely.

1. Emoto is correct (water responds to human emotion).
2. Emoto has a unique relationship to water, and this extends to differing degrees to those associated with him.
3. Emoto is simply wrong. The effects he has spoken of are either invented or misinterpretations.
4. Any or all of these positions may or may not be true. But the »ideas associated with his perspectives are »useful to hold in awareness, because they allow us to conceive of situations and relationships that would otherwise be impossible for us to formulate.
