Each pass evicts more of these aspects of our sense and understanding of for example ‘what a tree is or may become’… until we are left with a nearly ‘dead’ concrete token. Thereafter, ‘the tree’ is no longer mysterious, evocative, alive, or relationally and intelligently accessible to human minds.

It has become a mere object, a specific member of a the category ‘thing’, with nearly none of its originary import or invitation to participatory and transcendental relation available to most moderns.

The problem can be resolved however, once it is effectively introduced to awareness… and the same processes that have deprived us of intelligent participation in nature (or reality), when properly understood… form what can be used like a ‘negative map’ of their resolutions and remedies.”
