Identity in dreaming is profoundly different from our waking-world experience in that it is both more ambiguous and the forms of ambiguity are »meaningful. The softness of identity in dreaming results in new dimensions of meaningful relation and self-identity. Explicit identity is anathema to the dreaming mind but is the signature of the waking mind. There’s an important secret here about what’s missing from our common experiences of waking and identification.
