This post by Darin Stevenson is crucial. I would also add a few personal observations related to this matter. (Vidur Mishra)
I find this one-dimensional obsession with Artificial Intelligence laughable and insane when humans birth Naturally Intelligent babies every day. These little sensitive beings, by nature, are already much more multidimensionally “advanced and receptive” than man-made artifacts and machines. They are also very cute and funny and badass, which machines are not. Those kids are born with potentials, senses, faculties to become godlike beings if properly nurtured with mind-body-energy practices, intelligent and gentle self-updating educational environments, societies, and intelligent attention-giving homes. But having fallen victim to degenerated mindless cultures, humans unconsciously even treat their own kids like machines (or categorical objects) and are forced to send them through all sorts of “noisy factories” (school-college-job) and turn them into crudely shaped brainwashed one-dimensional agency-lacking product-beings (opposite to actively conscious living beings) to make and maintain other dead materialistic products. The cycle tightens and worsens. The worst becomes the new normal, and humans (as a collective whole) get more and more out of touch with their true nature. They are rewarded with endless illusory distractions (entertainment and commercial objects) to prevent them from making an effort to see through all of this, like a mouse distracted by cheese trapped in a cage.
They totally forget that anything else might even be possible beyond this veil. They cannot even imagine to see and explore if anything lies beyond their surface-level experience.
Unfortunately, we have set such self-destructive systems. From the early education process, those kids (who are supposed to grow and evolve into godlike beings, protectors, and champions of this planet) start degenerating into even poorer and sicker versions of themselves. Their own being and evolutionary growth are sacrificed in the process of making flashy and noisy machines with many distracting attention-consuming features. As they grow, instead of ascending the ladder, they fall even below the steps they were placed at the moment of birth. The increasing mental, attention, and physical sicknesses and self-harming addictions and habits are clear proofs of this degeneration.
Secondly, without any bias, creation has uniquely invested in every living being (organism), place, phenomenon, and the planet itself as much as it has invested in humans. There is no inferior or superior lifeform. Each is unique and uniquely relates (connects) to all other lifeforms. In this hyperdynamic multidimensional relational process of “Indra’s Net,” lifeforms affect (either destroy or uplift) each other depending on their personal and collective choices, actions, and pathways. As spoken in Maha Upanishad: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The Earthly World is One Family). But humans disconnected from nature and caught in their self-referential loops of thoughts and abstractions have made it all about themselves in a highly self-centered and violent manner.
They look for intelligence in “outer space” when all space (inner and outer) itself is formless intelligence that holds everything together and allows any manifestation at all out of its gracious lap. That formless space can be touched and communicated in utter freezing silence and stillness. They look to contact “aliens” in outer space when they can’t even communicate and relate gracefully with life all around this planet. This planet is overflowing with intelligent lifeforms. It is within you, all around you, and you. You can be in a state where you become so intensely conscious of the universe that you experience the universe being utterly alive and intelligently conscious of you becoming conscious of it. In this state, you will know the silent languages and communication of all life (plant, animal, insect, light, water, earth, fire, air, stellar, celestial, temporal, and spatial). They would become aware of you becoming aware of them. Then, both you and nonhuman lifeforms would be in harmonious communication and participation with each other and showing each other unspeakable things.
“Know thyself”
“All of humanity’s problems stem from man’s inability to sit quietly in a room alone.” – Blaise Pascal (Mathematician)
Humans want to detect intelligence in outer space when they cannot even detect intelligence in their own minds, awareness, and being. All these desires to go to “space or another world” are majorly driven by escapist attitudes when you have been abstracted and distracted out of your own existence and when you are unwilling to sit and confront the depths of intelligence within yourself. Within yourself lies the whole cosmos and jewel that connects all minds.
Only when you have become totally alien to yourself will you look for aliens out there.
A human cannot happen without everything else. But everything else would be just fine without humans. Though with mutual careful human participation, everything (including humans) can be so much more than how it has ever been.
“The Creator did not make a mistake with you – the mistake is all yours. You are a fantastic piece of life, but you have silly ideas about life.” – Sadhguru.
Humans have got silly ideas about the most basic elements of existence. They have got silly ideas about themselves.
