We refer to understanding, knowledge and skills with the same sense-word. This isn’t entirely accidental. However, what we ‘see’ with our eyes, is driven by our way of being in the world. The situation. Our history. And… our »concerns…

If our concerns change, our attitude… our orientation… then different things are seen and »felt as a result of ‘seeing’. Some aspects of vision resemble some of our mechanical ideas… but as embodied beings, vision is not and cannot be merely mechanical…

… and neither can we.
