From what I have learned of the common lateralization of the Right Hemisphere, its relationship with language is partial or… perhaps… it supervenes over language. It understands language but does not produce it. More accurately, there are occasions in which it may produce language, but this is often extremely concrete. ‘No’ (as in not desirable or not true) is an example.

If we imagine this hemisphere as distinct, as we find it only in some stroke patients or patients who underwent a commissurotomy, it’s character is intriguing. If language is not its primary route of expression… what might be? Dreaming is at least an aspect of an answer.

Note: The RH appears to be incapable of both dissembling and lying.

That’s a peculiar quality, and, conversely, in a distinct left hemisphere situation — we find two outstanding features: language, and unexpectedly ‘concrete’ forms of lying.
