“There’s an aspect of the Mind that is associated with ‘tearing down the dream’. Under certain conditions, the Mind sends an agent whose primary role it is … to destroy the manifold of the dreaming experience. To collapse it, entirely. To kill the dream, and invoke awakening.

This aspect often appears as a powerful threat, sometimes embodied in a person. One way I think of this process is as the mind ‘sending the dream hit-man’. This agent’s role involves generating threat — fear, anger, outrage — because adrenaline (and other metabolites) are used by the body to set course for awakening. When this fails, this agent arises to ‘finish the job’.

His goal?

End the Universe. Now. Including himself…

Unfortunately, there are situations (stress, illness, trauma) that can cause this agent to switch worlds, and arise as a powerful force in the waking world. In this case, it wants to destroy everything, literally, and becomes extremely upset about it’s impotence in the waking world. It’s like a furious god, that is almost completely impotent here, and everything with any potency it sees as a kind of shaming insult.

One result is schizophrenia. Pyschosis is another. It’s primary power in the individual who is awake is to destroy the dreaming manifold that encompasses the waking world, and this destroys the life-path of the individual, and their mind. Occasionally it escapes the local boundaries and the individual goes on a rampage of some kind.

But it can also take over cultures, and one of this signs of this is relationships collapsing into structured fictions, domination, and ways of ‘skipping relationships’ to transform them into commodities. It has the power, in our collectives, to end the world, and it is highly motivated to do so… at any and every cost.

In it’s ordinary role, it is self-terminating since, when the dream ends, it dies with it. In its public, waking role, it often presents a similar motive… obliterate »everything, including myself. Out of rage.

It doesn’t belong in the waking world, with extremely rare and temporary exceptions… but their »might be a way… to send it home, once it crosses over… “
