If English were a bit more like Blackfoot, I might call it ‘beetle seems to run backwards’. And surely this would be more meaningful, and naturally acquisitive of connotations and associations in one’s imagination… and relations with… such a creature… than some latin nomenclature.
For it would become not merely the member of a taxonomic class, but rather, an instance of the nature and intelligence… of all beings… in one unique, tiny, living… expression. Even though it might belong to a ‘class’ of organisms as well…
From such being, one could learn many otherwise secret things. Many sacred things. Because it is like the sky is speaking in a form you come into relation with. It’s not like a textbook. It’s not a matter of taxonomy.
It’s a living adapted instance of the Everyone. Of intelligence itself. In relation… and form… and activity…
