… the act does clean up the newsfeed, and thus affects if I can be triggered by it.
But if I did this regularly, I’d have two problems:
1. I would fail to see or understand the origins of the incredible examples of bald ignorance parading around on social media, and I actually want to study that and understand its origins.
2. I’d create a bubble of people who would confirm my own biases and confirm whatever my ‘position’ (which I want to be flexible enough to entertain two or more conflicting perspectives at once) ‘is’, which would, over time, continually collapse it toward ‘certainy’, which is the death of learning.
One of the problems is that people are going around making absolute declarations of identity, meaning and theory. Effectively, that’s word-mind masquerading as God. And »that shit is both lethal and contagious…
