I imagine, for a moment, that each ‘nation’ on Earth is represented by two people at a table

Each ‘people’ on Earth, is represented by two people sitting at a table. This pair is the embodiment of the entire history and future of, not precisely ‘a race’, but a lineage of peoples that have been condensed into these two representatives who embody all of the knowledge, uniqueness, history and gifts… of their lineages.

And I imagine the kinds of conversations and decisions, agreements and propositions, that might emerge in such a context. Because each participant is carrying gifts and perspectives that are invisible to others.

At the same time, each participant is ‘beneficially advanced’ by the sharing of those gifts with others, and the receiving of the gifts of others. In ways they could never be… by themselves.

This is what I have always understood to be true about ‘differences’. Not that they impose otherness, but that they invite otherwise unimaginably profound potential… in unity.

And I imagine them actually having concern for one another. Realizing, in fact, that they represent a single family. And caring for one another the way people who understood they are the limbs of a single body might… in unity.

I imagine this.
