The narratives we’re exposed to restructure the foundations of our memory as well as our relationships with it. These are the origins of the possibilities of human intelligence.
Unfortunately, through a series of catastrophes, we have become both vulnerable to and contagiously transmissive of… a vast array of narratives whose primary function is reproduction… and they decimate the foundations of our relationships with memory… and thus… with the possibility of anything resembling intelligence in our own lives… and in our societies.
But armed with this understanding, we can make these relationships conscious, and learn to distinguish between narratives that are crippling and contagious… and those that lift us… beyond the sum of stories we have ever been exposed to. This is an accessible goal.
And we must accomplish it together.
Now.
