I don’t get my science from Facebook. I work in the scientific publishing industry, and have for fifteen years. Believe me when I tell you that the fact some ‘study’ or speculation has been put to paper has nothing to do with its validity… and reading science papers accurately »requires formal expertise in the topic» and related topics.

I don’t buy diamonds at 7-11. And I don’t get my scientific (or political) perspectives from Fox News, Facebook, or those whose potential intelligence has been eviscerated by news-spun politics or sketchy speculation. Ever.
