“I don’t understand modernity. I saw an image of a woman with strange electronic garbage all over it. Her eyes were photographically distorted into something from a cat’s nightmare and there were cartoons of a banana and a light bulb in the upper right.
Because that was not enough, she had a bizarre expression on her face that somehow hovered between ‘come hither’ and disgust.
What could that possibly mean?
Is this an explicit image of insanity? What the actual f*ck is this? Please, save me from knowing the answer because I suspect death might well be preferable.
Maybe the whole composite was engineered to explicitly obliterate meaning. Forever. I can’t fucking tell, but looking at that was the mental equivalent of a sudden, unexpected train-wreck that sneaks up and ruins you — when you’re not even on a train!
Someone take me back to 1973. I am begging here. I can’t understand the brightly-lit abomination modern culture has become and, frankly, I don’t want to.
P.S. Electronic dating can go ‘date’ itself. Preferably on the dark side of the fucking moon.”
