“The staggering brilliance we carry within us at birth terrifies the world of human cultures, which despise it, and see it as absolutely alien.
For this reason, these intelligences must take one of two paths, and both are painful. The first is concealment. This happens in a process of layering that proceeds in phases throughout our lives and becomes the appearance of crystalization into opinion and (false) belief in adulthood. The second is prostitution; to produce only that which the culture can commodify.
These seeds thus lie dormant and distorted at the core of our natures, and they will but rarely hint at their true nature unless we establish contexts that nurture, value and fertilize them. While this is not entirely impossible for individuals, it is incredibly perilous.
And so we must form groups capable of understanding and embodying the nascent potentials within us. These wildly exceed the most provocative visions of technology, science, and religion for a simple reason: they would obliterate them if even modestly expressed. Nor would they allow the propagation of cultures that despise, counterfeit, or commodify them.”
